I had to spend most of time as an MP embroiled in Scotland’s constitutional debate…and today I find myself returning to the Houses of Parliament to look on as today’s MPs take to Westminster Hall to debate the prospect of there being another independence referendum.
Our Chief Exec Pamela Nash has written to the Permanent Secretary to express our concern that taxpayers money has been used by the Scottish Government for political propaganda.
Some of our regional teams across Scotland are holding St Andrew's Day celebrations, on Thursday 30 November.
The largest of these is in Paisley (the soon-to-be UK City of Culture 2021) and is being organised by our Renfrewshire team.

My family and I moved from the USA to the United Kingdom just over 22 years ago. As a manager for a US based electronics company I was tasked with setting up manufacturing operations in the UK. Scotland was selected as our base for UK operations as it offered inroads into a wider UK market in the hi-tech and automotive industries. My family and I set up home in Scotland in the lovely seaside town of Broughty Ferry on the east coast of Scotland. We grew to love our life there and we fully embraced the many and varied cultural aspects of life in the UK.
It has been announced that there is to be a debate in the UK Parliament on the topic of: ‘Another Scottish independence referendum should not be allowed to happen’ - that has been triggered after a petition reached 221,514 signatures. This debate will be held on Monday 13th November 2017, and we would like all our supporters to contact their local MP to express their views.
"We may not yet know exactly when the choice will be made. But we can, we must, and we will always make the case for independence".
- Nicola Sturgeon, 10th October.
At her party conference this afternoon, Nicola Sturgeon insisted she will keep making the case for independence – and she "always" will.
Showing a tin ear to the majority of Scots who have urged her to get on with the day job, the First Minister insisted the case for independence has never been stronger.
Despite losing a third of their MPs in the recent election and poll after poll rejecting their calls for a second referendum, the SNP Government is determined to push ahead with its constitutional obsession at the expense of Scotland.
This week, new polling research commissioned by Scotland in Union revealed most Scots are not impressed by the SNP’s record in Government and support for Nicola Sturgeon is in freefall.
It also shows nearly half of Scotland believe they were misled by the SNP ahead of the referendum and think we would be worse off if we had voted Yes.
That’s why we need a campaign like Scotland in Union to answer the divisive rhetoric from the nationalists and remind people of the positives of being part of the UK.
You can make the SNP Government listen and stop a second referendum by giving us your support so we can make ourselves heard.
Nearly half of Scots believe the SNP Government misrepresented the economic case for independence to increase support for a Yes vote, according to our newly commissioned poll.
Having spent some time looking at the powers that your article says will be denied to Scotland, (List of 111 powers SNP say will be denied to Scotland after Brexit, 20th September), I am left thinking that all is not what it might seem here.

Here's another addition to our Tell Us Your Story campaign, this time from Scotland in Union supporter Josh: It’s thanks to the Union I have a future.

Fake-onomics exposed by reality
It's GERS time again. Every year, once a year, the Scottish Government's own economists and statisticians tell us just how vast the hole is in their ministers’ prize policy of independence. This year GERS will tell us about what was supposed to be the first year of independence, 2016-17.
