Statement by Scotland in Union

The Media has been reporting on an offensive comment on Twitter about Scotland in Union by Glasgow East MP Natalie McGarry (see below).

A spokesperson for Scotland in Union said:

"We are surprised that an elected member of parliament would make such a false and offensive accusation. We will be taking legal advice before responding formally to Ms McGarry."

For background information - Scotland in Union is run by Alastair Cameron, a married father from Edinburgh who set up the campaign in 2015. He receives no payment from his role as director. He works full time as a consultant in the financial services industry and previously served in the military. He has a a degree in Modern History from St Andrews.
