Today we are launching our tactical voting website ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliament election.
After nearly 20 years of SNP government, many people across Scotland want change. However, with several parties contesting each seat there is a real risk that the SNP could remain in power.
Our tactical voting website has been created to help voters who want to stop the nationalists.
The site enables people in Scotland to enter their postcode and see SIU's recommendation for the party with the best chance of defeating the SNP in their constituency.

The recommendations are based on a range of factors, including opinion polling, past election results, demographic data, local knowledge and other insights.
Our advice does not endorse any party’s policies. It simply highlights which candidate from the established pro-UK parties we believe has the strongest chance of defeating the SNP in each constituency. The constituency ballot paper is the lilac one, with the candidates named.
In the 2024 UK General Election, our tactical voting guide correctly identified the main challenger to the SNP in all 57 constituencies in Scotland.
We haven't made recommendations for the regional lists in the Scottish election (the 'peach' ballot paper), as the system is complex and depends on the constituency results - our advice is simply not to use your regional list vote for the SNP or for the nationalists of the Scottish Green Party!
After nearly two decades of SNP government, Scotland deserves better. If you want to see change at Holyrood, this is how we can help make it happen.

This post gives a clear snapshot of how tactical voting is being framed ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliament election, especially in a landscape where multiple parties are competing in each constituency. The idea of using postcode-based recommendations based on polling, past results, and local data highlights how strategic voting has become more data-driven over time . It’s interesting how the guide positions itself as not endorsing policies but focusing purely on electoral outcomes, which reflects how complex voter decision-making can be in multi-party systems. Overall, it shows how coordinated voting strategies are becoming more visible in modern elections. I came across rapid assignment help while reading about similar political topics, and it can also be explored via assignment services for…
Reading through this guide on strategic choices reminds me how much research goes into every big decision, whether it's voting or investing in a new smartphone. I was actually looking for the ZTE Nubia V80 Pro Price in Pakistan earlier and realized that making an informed choice is just as vital in the tech market. It's interesting how we always seek the best value for our future, whether in local policy or the tech we carry in our pockets.
Reading through the launch details of this tactical voting guide is a stark reminder of how complex navigating civic systems can be, a challenge that mirrors the intricate problem-solving I deal with daily while navigating the intensive rigors of my current PhD research. Balancing my doctoral studies with a part-time role at last minute assignments has given me a front-row seat to the modern student experience, where staying informed on local politics often clashes with overwhelming technical deadlines and demanding design projects; having suffered through many high-stress hustles and sleepless nights during my own college days, I am now incredibly conscious of the mental toll that an unmanaged workload can take on one’s stability. This personal history is why I…
I came across this game while searching for something simple. At first I didn’t understand what to do and almost stopped playing. After spending some time, it became clearer. Now I play it sometimes when I have free time. It runs fine on my phone without issues. I don’t use it daily. It’s not very unique, but still okay for light playing and passing time when needed.
